Term 2 Week 6

What have we been learning the last few weeks?

* We have been doing final blends for our handwriting and poetry. Max

* We have been learning how to make stuff like popcorn and banana splits. Charlotte

* The star children for the past few weeks have been Charlotte, Max, Jordan and Hugo. Lily

* We had a hangi for all the year 2's during cultural festival week. Rueben.

* We have been learning about the Maori culture. We did weaving, and we learnt some Rakau games. We learnt how to prepare for a hangi, by preparing vegetables, digging a big hole in the ground, and safety precautions around a hangi pit. Lucas and Justine

* We have been learning about the 7 stars of Matariki - Charlotte

* Reuben and Max had their birthdays and had morning tea with Mr Sibson. Max

* We learnt a couple of new songs - Star treking across the universe and a Matariki song. Xavier

* We put on and performed at the whole school assembly in week 5. - Hugo

* Miss Captain was teaching us because Miss Kincaid was sick. - Sophie

* We have been learning about procedural writing, this is instructions and steps on how to make stuff and how to do stuff. - Jackson & Bella

* We are learning about shapes with Mrs B and patterns with Miss Kincaid - Lewes and Emily

* Miss Kincaid is teaching the triangle group about the symbols for more than and less than and equal to - Lily

* We have learnt who the best people are to "C3B4ME" for the different subjects. This list is on the wall next to our Tidy Kiwi jobs. - Max

* The learning reports went home and our parents came in to conference with Miss Kincaid.

* The weather has been cold and rainy and we have been stuck inside for the last week and more. But we are lucky because we have been able to watch movies like Flushed Away, Spongebob Squarepants and Shrek 2. Renee and Jason
